Happy Friday All! I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday yesterday. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of year, mostly because I am able to host Thanksgiving dinner every year. You see, every year my husbands family has gathered at the old family homestead, “the farm” (been in the family for over 150 years), my husband grew up here, and now we live here. When we moved to this house we also received the privilege of hosting the traditional family Thanksgiving dinner. When I say privilege I really mean it, I love hosting, love it so much. So the fact that I can have our family together makes me so excited. My parents and sister also come and enjoy dinner with us, so we get to be surrounded by all our family. There is 42 of us in all, so the house is so full, but its so fun! I also believe I married into the most wonderful family, so fun loving, I just love when the house is full of everyone and all the laughter and conversations flow through out the home, making it feel so cozy and warm. Sitting here looking back at yesterday and the fun that was had, has me so full of thanks, and so grateful for family.
One of my favorite things about hosting is decorating for the party. I actually love Christmas so much and never have any Christmas parties, so I decorate the house for Christmas even though we are celebrating Thanksgiving. Which is nice in an other way too, once Thanksgiving is over, our house is decorated already, so we can just head into Christmas enjoying our own little family and having fun with the kids.
I had the most fun putting the table centerpieces together this year. I must have been more “on top” of things this year, or had more help this year, because I found by self actually having time to put into the centerpieces, and I love doing that type of thing, decorating, so I am so very thankful that I had the opportunity to try to make the tables look pretty.
I thought I would share some pictures with you, just a few, just for fun. I would also love to hear about your thanksgiving, do you go out or host? What do you enjoy most about Thanksgiving? If you love to host, what do you enjoy most about hosting?
Thinking about Thanksgiving and Holidays and parties and gatherings of sort, has me thinking about how much I love my job. When I am designing a kitchen for someone I am thinking about all the fun that will be invited into their home. I am thinking about the family and or friends that will be gathered around the island. The laughter that will be in their home. My goal in designing kitchens is not to just make a nice looking kitchen, but to design an environment that welcomes engaging conversations, laughter, memories and sharing. I love the fun that family and friends bring, and I wish lots of memories being made for all our clients.
I know today’s post wasn’t about cabinetry, but I thought you might still enjoy reminiscing about Thanksgiving and looking forward to the next fun filled Holiday, Christmas! Happy Thanksgiving all!
It’s actually a great and useful piece of info. I am glad that you shared this useful info with us. Please keep us up to date like this. Thank you for sharing.
