I am sure you have already heard the quote,

“the only thing that is constant is change”.

But it is true, change happens whether we wish for it or not, change is utterly dependable. It seems the older one gets the more change they have witnessed. I know I love to hear stories from our grandparents about all the change they have witnessed, how some of them grew up without indoor toilets, how one would only take the car out once a week, and that was just to church, how the kitchen had a dry sink, a wood fired range, and a kitchen table in it, thats it. Being in the kitchen and bath industry, I love reading the history on these two main rooms in our homes, what these two rooms were (or should I say were not) into what we see now, is just mind blowing. But I am getting way off topic here. My point is that we have seen so much change, it doesn’t matter who you are, if you are old enough to buy a kitchen, nine chances out of ten you are old enough to remember life with out a smart phone, or Pinterest, or houzz, or maybe even Facebook, others of us remember typing class being done on a typewriter (a typewriter, whats that?) haha! So considering all the technology changes we have been exposed to, considering how the world is now more technological than ever, and that it is growing at an alarming rate, it seems as though it cannot be prolonged any more, so we are starting a blog! Thats right, first it was a website, then email, then Facebook and houzz and Instagram and twitter, and now, jumping on the band wagon, we have a blog! Look at us! 🙂

I did jump ahead of myself a little bit there. I was so excited to make that announcement. We are “old time”, yes, but in a good way. We have a small shop that is mainly family, so we really put the family in family owned and operated. Everything we make is true custom, that means that we actually make our own doors and drawer boxes and front frames and cabinet boxes (there are “custom cabinet shops” that don’t). We do our own installation (we don’t sub that out), and we have our own designers, (we don’t have dealers). So to some, that may seem a little antiquated, but I truly feel that when it comes to quality, sometimes you need to be a little old fashioned, just like the old saying goes, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. So we don’t have robots sanding and putting front frames together (yes that is a thing), we sand by hand, and go over the cabinets with a fine eye, to make sure everything is of great quality.

We may have seen many changes, from cabinet styles, to machinery changes, to technological changes, however one thing has been constant.

We have served countless customers over the years, and always find it a privilege to be a part of designing and creating one of the most important rooms in your home. We find great satisfaction in knowing that you are getting something that will last when you chose our cabinets. We hope that this blog is just one more great way to get to know our customers better and maybe even meet some new customers. We want to be a great source of information about the industry, about trends, give you ideas and answer questions. We hope you can feel comfortable here, and get to know us better a little bit too.
